Earthwarm Inc was formed as an extension of Heartwood Homes, a home building company owned by Mark and Karen Leigh.

The business grew out of their desire to reduce the large and ever growing propane bills required to heat their rural Chisago County home. As Mark discussed heating and cooling alternatives with his HVAC contractors, geothermal systems were clearly the best alternative; mainly because they have a relatively short and easily obtainable payback period, but also because they are good for the environment. It made sense that the heating system would pay for itself and then be operated for many years for only the cost of the electricity to run the heat pump.

Earthwarm has partnered with Dwight Benson, owner of a local HVAC company, DB Diversified, to help design your geo-thermal system and install your heat pump. We also work with other local excavators, electricians, HVAC contractors and other professional tradesmen as needed.

Earthwarm exclusively uses heat pumps manufactured by Econar Energy Systems Corporation. Their heat pumps are built in Appleton, Minnesota and are designed to eliminate the need for a backup fuel source, even during the coldest winter days.
